ESWI’s Early Career Scientists’ Fund

ESWI Early Career Scientists’ Fund (ECaS Fund) provides grants to early career scientists from all over the globe who wish to attend the European Influenza Conferences and engage with distinguished members, speakers and participants over the 4-day conference.

After the abstract evaluation process, presenting authors of the highest scoring accepted abstracts (orals and posters) will be invited to apply for the ECaS Fund. The ECaS Fund will be allocated based on the score of the abstracts, which will be evaluated by our Scientific Programme Committee.

Eligible presenting authors should meet the following criteria: 

  • you are a senior PhD student (expected to complete your dissertation within a year of the conference) or 
  • you hold a PhD or a clinical qualification for less than 3 years at the time of the application. Special considerations (e.g. maternity / paternity leave) will be taken into account 
  • your research focuses on one of the conference’s main programme topics (either in the Scientific Programme or Science Policy Interface track) 

How to apply? 

  • Register and submit an abstract to the 10th ESWI Influenza Conference. 
  • If you are invited to apply to the ECaS fund applicants, you should submit a proof of status (In English on institution’s letterhead from a faculty member or Department Head)

ESWI’s Low and Lower-middle Income countries Fund

ESWI LMIC Fund provides travel and participation grants to delegates employed by or studying at organisations and institutions in low and lower middle income countries who wish to attend the European Influenza Conferences and engage with distinguished members, speakers and participants over the 4-day conference.

After the abstract evaluation process, presenting authors of the highest scoring accepted abstracts (orals and posters) will be invited to apply for the LMIC Fund. The LMIC Fund will be allocated based on the score of the abstracts, which will be evaluated by our Scientific Programme Committee.
