Dr. Anders Madsen is a Norwegian physician-scientist and postdoctoral researcher at the Influenza Centre, University of Bergen. He also holds a part-time clinical position in diagnostic immunology at Haukeland University Hospital. He received his medical degree in 2021 and completed a PhD in 2022 on antibody responses to influenza hemagglutinin (HA) and neuraminidase (NA).

His research focuses on how antibody responses to NA can support the development of more effective influenza vaccines. He has worked as a visiting researcher in the labs of Professors Ali Ellebedy (Washington University in St. Louis) and Florian Krammer (Mount Sinai, New York), where he worked on characterizing monoclonal antibodies targeting NA.

Anders has contributed to studies on long-term antibody persistence following pandemic vaccination and on NA-specific antibodies with cross-reactive potential. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he was involved in both clinical care and immunological research. He is currently analyzing samples from a large influenza vaccine study in children and pregnant women in Bangladesh, with a focus on immune responses associated with protection against infection.
