Dr. Norosoa Razanajatovo is currently a Research Fellow in the Virology Department at the Institut Pasteur de Madagascar, where she leads the National Influenza Center (NIC). She holds a PhD in Biochemistry Applied to Medical Sciences. Her research focuses on emerging and re- emerging respiratory viruses, with expertise in the epidemiology, etiology, and transmission dynamics of acute viral respiratory infections. She plays a key role in Madagascar’s integrated respiratory virus surveillance system and is actively involved in genomic surveillance and phylodynamic studies to better understand viral transmission patterns and seasonality. Her findings directly inform public health strategies and clinical responses across the country.
Internationally, she collaborates with several global networks, including the Global Influenza Surveillance and Response System (GISRS), the Global Influenza Hospital Surveillance Network (GIHSN), the Institut Pasteur Network, and regional National Influenza Centers across Africa.
Beyond her research, Dr. Razanajatovo is deeply committed to capacity building. She has supervised students at the bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD levels and actively contributes to the Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP). Through scientific innovation, international collaboration, and training, her work continues to strengthen global health security and pandemic preparedness.
