Josefine Schroeder studied Biology (B.Sc.) at TU Dresden and Molecular Medicine (M.Sc.) at Friedrich Schiller University Jena. In 2021, she joined the research group of Prof. Dr. C. Ehrhardt at the Section of Experimental Virology, Institute of Medical Microbiology, at the University Hospital Jena, as a PhD student. Since her master’s thesis, which focused on the pharmacological treatment of fungal and viral infections, her research has centered on therapeutic strategies targeting viral infections. In her PhD project, she investigates host-directed, nanoparticle-based drug delivery systems as an innovative approach to combat influenza A virus infections.
