Weijia Xiong is a final-year PhD candidate in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the University of Hong Kong. Her research focuses on infectious disease epidemiology and modeling, with particular interests in transmission dynamics, real-time nowcasting, and serological immunity for respiratory viruses such as influenza and SARS-CoV-2.
Weijia has authored and co-authored several peer-reviewed publications in leading journals, including Emerging Infectious Diseases, The Journal of Infectious Diseases, Nature Communications, and The Lancet Regional Health – Western Pacific.
She holds a BSc in Statistics from East China Normal University and an MSc in Biostatistics from Columbia University. She also conducted an exchange research program at the Institut Pasteur in Paris. Her work has been presented at international conferences such as ESWI, EPIDEMICS and OPTIONS.
