Ann Moen, MPA works as a consultant fort he Task Force for Global Health on projects aligned with the Partnership for International Vaccine Introduction. She provides support to countries and global initiatives on surveillance, vaccination and preparedness for respiratory viruses. She retired from US CDC in 2022, where she served as Associate Director for Preparedness and Response, Influenza Division. There she supported national and international preparedness work ranging from policy development to capacity-building internationally, including vaccination. From 2017 to 2021, Ms. Moen was seconded to the World Health Organization in Geneva Switzerland, where she served as Chief of Influenza Preparedness and Response, a unit comprised of the Global Influenza Program and the PIP Framework Secretariat. She was responsible for oversight and management of the two units including strategic vision, planning and provision of technical expertise. Before that, in CDC’s Influenza Division, Ms. Moen also served as the Associate Director for the Extramural Program where she began and directed the international capacity building program for the Influenza Division from 2004 to 2017. She began work on influenza at CDC in 1999, as the Deputy Branch Chief. 

Previously, Ms. Moen worked 7 years as a public health advisor in Health Resources and Services Administration. Her career at CDC started in 1985 as a laboratory scientist in both CDC’s Special Pathogens Branch and Center for Environmental Health Laboratory Services. Her career began as a Peace Corps Volunteer serving as a laboratory technician in rural Thailand.
