*Student/Young Scientist: This fee is only payable by Students/Young Scientists who did not apply for a grant or students/Young Scientists that applied but were not awarded a grant. Students/Young Scientists must upload a proof of status: the document must be issued in English. It can be a scan of your valid student ID card if issued in English or a confirmation from the Dean’s Office. The document should contain the same name and surname as your Conftool registration account and should contain an expiry date. You qualify as a Student/Young Scientist if you are a senior PhD student (expected to complete your dissertation within a year of the conference) or if you hold a PhD or a clinical qualification for less than 3 years at the time of the application. Special considerations (e.g. maternity/paternity leave) will be taken into account.

***LMIC participants: This fee is only payable by LMIC participants who did not apply for a grant or LMIC participants who applied but were not awarded a grant. LMIC participants must upload a proof of status: the document must be issued in English. It can be a scan of a statement by the organisation you are employed by or study at. The organisation must be located in a low and middle income country, as defined by the World Bank list. The document should contain the same name and surname as your Conftool registration account.

Young Scientists Fund

The ESWI Young Scientist Fund provides grants to young scientists from all over the globe who wish to attend the European Influenza Conferences and engage with distinguished members, speakers and participants over the 4-day conference.

Our Young Scientists session will open with a plenary devoted entirely to the work of promising scientists. In past editions, these plenaries have been highly appreciated in the influenza community, mainly due to their innovative and refreshing nature.

The Young Scientist Fund is an open competition and applications are evaluated by our Scientific Programme Committee.

ESWI LMIC Fund

Low and Middle Income countries Fund

The ESWI LMIC Fund provides travel and participation grants to delegates employed by or studying at organisations and institutions in low and middle income countries who wish to attend the European Influenza Conferences and engage with distinguished members, speakers and participants over the 4-day conference.

ESWI is pleased to be able to offer travel and participation grants to LMIC delegates for the 2023 Ninth ESWI Conference.

The LMIC Fund is an open competition and applications are evaluated by our Scientific Programme Committee.
